Community Monitoring Workshop

Mark your calendars for July 12-13 for our next TAFJ environmental justice training on community monitoring. We’ll discuss topics, including: (1) what monitors/sensors are currently available, (2) how to select the best monitors/sensors to achieve community goals, (3) options for funding monitors, and (4) how to work with communities to create a monitoring program. We’ll be joined by experts, including: Sacoby Wilson from Maryland Institute for Applied Enviro. Health,  Elena Craft from Environmental Defense Fund,  Dan Costa, former National Program Director for EPA’s Air Climate & Energy Research Program Below are some important logistics about the event: When and Where: Austin, July 12, 10:30-5:30, followed by dinner; July 13, 8:30am-2pm. We will be sending out a more detailed agenda in June. Who: This workshop is geared towards attorneys, paralegals, and other non-lawyers working under the TAJF community development grant. Hotel Information: We are arranging a block of hotels rooms at a reduced rate for the night of July 12th. More info coming in June. Costs: Each program is responsible for covering the costs of their attendees’ travel and hotel. We are arranging for the meals and will cover the cost of meals during the workshop and dinner on the 12th.
