Golf to End Alzheimer's
During June, Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, advocates across the world will participate in The Longest Day to honor the estimated 47 million people worldwide living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. This special day of action is an opportunity to do what we love to support those who face Alzheimer’s every day. I would like to invite you to join the cause and participate in The Longest Day on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Held annually on the summer solstice, The Longest Day symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. The Longest Day participants will engage in their favorite activities – biking, hiking, playing bridge, swimming, knitting, and more – to honor a caregiver, someone living with Alzheimer’s, or someone they’ve lost to this devastating disease. Whether it’s choosing a favorite activity, hosting an event or joining a team, participants will raise funds and awareness to advance Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs. Our team is holding a golf tournament on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 at Shadowglen Golf Course. 1PM shot gun start with dinner and awards following. $125 person or $400/ team! Alzheimer’s disease is a growing health crisis and the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. Additionally, more than 15 million family and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The Alzheimer’s Association is determined to create a world without Alzheimer’s disease and we would be honored to have you join us on The Longest Day.
