Viva la Vida Festival and Parade
Saturday, October 27, 2018 will mark the return of the Viva La Vida Festival and Parade. Entering its 35th year, Mexic-Arte Museum’s Viva La Vida Fest is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival. The celebration includes a Grand Procession which brings together a vibrant and varied mix of the traditional, contemporary, and Austin “weird” expressed through costumes, props, live music, dancers, and floats, marches down historic 6th Street and culminates at the festival grounds on 4th Street and Congress Avenue. The Festival will include the Education Pavilion—with hands-on art activities and artist demos—as well as lively festivities featuring traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music, and performances throughout the day.
Register to be a parade participant or a festival vendor to be a part of the festivities. For sponsorship questions, please contact Conner Moncrief at firstname.lastname@example.org or (512) 200-7276.
